2025 IMPACT REPORT

This Is What Hope Built in 2025.

Because of you, teenagers found a table, a mentor, and a reason to come back. Families found food when the pantry was their only option. Women and children found a bed, a family, and a future. This is what your generosity built in 2025 — and why we're asking you to stay with us for what's next.

From our founder

Dear Friend,

If I had to sum up 2025 in one word, it would be growth. Not the comfortable kind — the kind that stretches you. We expanded our NXT GEN Teen Program and rescued and housed more teens than any year before. We launched a brand-new NXT GEN Nights After-School Program, not knowing whether it would find its footing. Within weeks, thirty-plus teenagers were showing up every single Tuesday, and by year's end we had mentored more than 2,760 of them.

None of that happened because of us. It happened because you kept showing up — with a gift, a prayer, a Tuesday night volunteering on our sports field, a seat at our benefit concert. You fed families through Care & Share. You gave women and children a bed through House of Hope. And you gave hundreds of teenagers something a lot of them had never had: an adult who came back the following week.

The need around us hasn't slowed down, and honestly, neither have we. This report is our way of showing you exactly what your partnership built this year — and inviting you to help us build what's next.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Shannon Nelson

Care & Share: no one should face hunger alone

Our brick-and-mortar food pantry and outreach teams met families where they were this year — on our Splendora campus, in Tent City, and block by block across Montgomery County and the Greater Houston area.

House of Hope exists for women, children, and teens fleeing domestic violence, trafficking, homelessness, or crisis pregnancy. A bed here isn't the end of the story — it's the beginning of one, built around discipleship, counseling, and community.

This year, that looked like 342 women, children, and teens entering safe housing or a long-term discipleship program. It looked like 53 expecting mothers choosing life after receiving an ultrasound and support. And it looked like 24 women rescued out of human trafficking situations and into a place built to help them heal.

NXT GEN Nights: where a hot meal becomes a lifeline

For a lot of the teenagers who walk onto our Splendora campus on a Tuesday evening, the meal we serve at 6:00 PM is the only full meal they'll eat that day. That's not a guess — it's what they've told us directly. What starts as dinner becomes the door to mentorship, life skills, and faith.

Most of these teens come from single-parent homes, often led by mom alone, in a county where 1 in 10 children live in poverty and nearly half qualify for free lunch. Parents call us because they're out of options with a child's behavior. They drop their teenager off once. By the third Tuesday, that same teenager is the one asking to be brought back.

Every session includes a certified counselor on-site, because the small-group conversations that happen after the games — guys with male mentors, girls with female mentors — are often where teens open up about things they've never said out loud: depression, anxiety, even suicidal thoughts. That's the moment NXT GEN Nights exists for.

We're not slowing down. Quarterly NXT GEN Pop-Up Nights with Mayor Danny Lee and the City of Cleveland now draw 100+ youth and community members per event, and we're preparing to double our weekly capacity in 2026 as more teens hear about the program.

“I hardly recognize my son — in the best way.”

NXT GEN Housing: the next chapter, still being written

Right now, teenagers in our own backyard are sleeping in cars, on borrowed couches, or in the hands of someone who means to exploit them — teens who've aged out of foster care with nowhere to go, survivors of trafficking, and teens healing from abuse. We're in the very beginning stages of exploring a dedicated housing space on our Splendora campus built just for them, and we're looking for people who share this passion to come alongside us and help us think through how we can make it a reality.

This one is personal for our founder, Shannon. As a baby, she herself was placed at a Methodist Mission Home orphanage by her birth mother and later adopted into a family who loved her — and she has never forgotten what it felt like to need somewhere safe to land. NXT GEN Housing is her hope that no teenager we rescue ever has to wonder if someone is coming back for them.

“Through this program, both of my babies were placed with loving adoptive families through open adoptions — I still get to watch them grow up and be part of their lives. In less than a year here, everything else about my life has changed too. But the biggest change happened in my heart. I got saved. I know Jesus now, and for the first time, I know who I am — not what was done to me, but who God says I am.”
