When teens come into our Renewed Youth Mentorship Program addressing their immediate needs is our priority - warm meals, showers, beds, and a safe environment.
Renewed Youth involves building a foundation of safety and trust, that's so often eroded by life on the streets, and restoring and building faith within Jesus Christ.
We believe education is key and we’re proud to offer GED and High school Education programs right on campus. With community education partners like Lone Star College, our teens have several options to expand their education in either a trade or professional setting. Extended ministry training is also available for this program.
While individuals are in our Renewed Youth Program it’s important to their long term success that we equip them with career training experience. Our program has mandatory volunteer and career development hours around the campus and residents learn things like showing up on time, how to interview for a position, how to interact with others on the job, how to interact with a supervisor and how to learn new trade skills outside of what they may already know. This time spent working in the kitchen, maintenance, landscaping or construction areas also gives them experience they can list on a resume when they are ready to find employment. Teens are required to seek employment.
We continue to walk along the journey with them, providing guidance, prayer, and on-going spiritual counseling.
